Weekly Crowdfunding Picks: Four Campaigns to Watch

Weekly Crowdfunding Picks brings together four campaigns that turn specialist technology into practical consumer products: a sleep intervention wearable, a browser-based remote-control device, a connected cycling helmet, and a pocket-sized creative printer.

DUSQ | Sleep Regulation System

Kickstarter funding: US$824,809 | From US$349 | 3,071 backers

DUSQ is a behind-the-ear sleep intervention device designed to identify and respond to subtle disruptions during the night. Its patented electrodermal activity sensor and optical PPG module monitor signals associated with the autonomic nervous system. When sleep becomes unstable, the device uses non-invasive vagus and vestibular nerve stimulation intended to help the wearer return to a deeper, more stable state of rest.

The 12-gram device pairs with a charging case that also tracks ambient light, sound and temperature. The companion app brings together overnight data and intervention records, while medical-grade, low-allergen adhesive patches are designed for week-long use. Rather than simply recording sleep, DUSQ positions itself as an active sleep-support system.

GL.iNet | Cross-Platform Remote Control

Kickstarter funding: US$655,637 | From US$89 | 4,644 backers

Comet Q is GL.iNet’s portable, hardware-level remote-control solution for USB-C devices. A single USB-C cable carries video, data and power, while pass-through charging keeps the connected device powered. With Wi-Fi 6, a 1.8-inch touchscreen, up to 2K/60fps video and two-way audio, it can be accessed through a browser or dedicated app.

Unlike software-only tools, its hardware architecture is designed to manage a device even when it is asleep, locked or offline. It supports DP Alt Mode phones, tablets, laptops and mini PCs, and includes Tailscale, ZeroTier and WireGuard options alongside multi-device management and permission sharing. It is aimed at development, maintenance and remote-support workflows.

Lumos Helmet | Connected Cycling Helmet

Kickstarter funding: US$655,636 | From US$179 | 2,251 backers

Lumos Sonorus combines group communication, lighting and protective technology for commuters and group riders. Its full-duplex mesh intercom supports up to 15 riders, with a claimed range of up to one mile in open environments. Open-ear audio keeps riders aware of their surroundings while handling music, navigation and calls; the system automatically balances music and intercom audio.

The helmet also features a TÜV-certified 360-degree lighting system, wireless turn signals, automatic brake lights and group-synchronised lighting. Mips protection, extended rear coverage and wind-tunnel-optimised ventilation round out a design intended for longer rides. Its electronic components can be removed and reused when the shell reaches the end of its service life.

INKWON Printing | Four-in-One Creative Studio

Kickstarter funding: US$645,881 | From US$200 | 2,407 backers

Inkwon Tag is a compact printer for temporary tattoos, custom stickers, fabric heat transfers and photo prints. Measuring 105 x 97 x 45 mm, it uses 600 DPI output and CMY dye inks to produce detailed, colour-rich images. Its skin-safe tattoo ink is designed for direct application, while an optional UV-curing accessory adds water resistance.

Automatic feeding, a magnetic compartment cover and a simple companion app make the device accessible to first-time users. It is positioned for family crafts, everyday keepsakes and small-scale personalised product businesses.
